Bio
Hiro Cash is a contemporary painter from Gallup, New Mexico, and currently a student at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Arts.
Hiro’s works explore and draw from the realms of pop culture, personal experience, identity, transitioning, and music. Hiro's practice is primarily on canvas and paper using mediums of acrylic paints, oil paints, pastels, and to hand drawn drawings on paper that are collaged onto his pieces, though his practice and creativity has been developing and extendeding to three dimensional form as well of executing ideas that work in sculptural work and taking new forms.
The start of his art career has been life changing; from his early days producing graphic tees to being accepted into three prominent juried art shows in the U.S. at The Heard Museum Guild Indian Market in Phoenix, Arizona; The Gene Autry American Indian Arts Market in Los Angeles, California; and the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts Indian Market in Santa Fe, New Mexico; and to showcasing his works in a couple of solo exhibitions at LOOM Indigenous Art Gallery, Gallup, New Mexico in 2024 and a major solo exhibition in 2026 at Big Happy Gallery, Santa Fe, New Mexico.
